6. Spherical expansion.
One of the great things about all of these core agilities is that they are the key to long lasting health. Doing these exercises keep your mind active and by moving around the stuff inside of your body you stimulate blood flow and nervous system communication to your organs. You keep your organs alive with vitality and in the right place. Basically, internal intelligence will keep you in better health longer.
Okay now, let’s discuss spherical expansion. Once you have done all of the things we have been talking about the next step is to try to expand your entire core area like you are inflating a beach ball. The thing is, you can’t contract muscles to do this. In fact, you can’t just push out your belly either. That would only be one direction, silly. And to quote one of my favorite movies, we want all positions (in our case, directions)! Are we green? Super Green?
Instead, to get the sphere effect that we are after you must relax and melt everything. Open the hips out, relax the psoas muscles, relax the piriformis muscle, relax everything down there.
With your mind, think of expanding this relaxed area into a sphere. Let that sphere sink down to the bottom of your core mass between your hips. The bigger you can make this relaxed, expanded area the better.
